MEET AMARIS

Amaris is a reggae revival cover band based in west London's Paddington district. The band is made up of a group of lifelong friends who hail back to the era of reggae revival classics and share a passion for music production and live performances.

The name "Amaris" means "promised by God" in Hebrew, and the band sees music as a powerful way to bring healing to the soul.
​
Amaris unique sound draws inspiration from early reggae artist such as John Holt, Dennis Brown, Marcia Griffiths, Phyllis Dillon and the Mighty Diamonds. Their high-energy performances and engaging stage presence have earned them a loyal following since their launch in 2022.
​
The band's focus on raising awareness for prostate cancer and other illnesses that affect the Caribbean & African community sets them apart from other reggae bands. Along with their performances, Amaris invites guest speakers from various charities and organisations to highlight the cause and encourage others to get involved.
Amaris includes lead vocalist J Cass (Jeff Cassius), drummer Jah Son (Jason), keyboards/backing vocals (DaPaul), lead guitarist JazzMan 4 Christ (Floyd Parris), backing vocalist (Sophia Toomey) aka Sophia J, backing vocalist Kitty Corbin, rhythm guitarist Rebel Union (Shawn Thomas) and bass guitarist (Pete Al) aka Sharky P.

As they continue to expand their musical genre and play more planned gigs in the coming year, Amaris is poised to make they mark on the reggae music scene and make a difference in the lives of those affected by such illnesses.

Band Members
J Cass lead vocalist was born in west london he started singing from an early age. As a young man he made his mark as a singer, singing at weddings, house parties, night clubs and also church. His influences are artist such as Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, John Holt, Freddie McGregor, Denis Brown to name a few.
Sharky P bass guitarist was born and raised in west london. At the young age of 13, with much dedication he saved his pocket money and bought his first bass guitar and taught himself to play Jamaican reggae Studio 1 & Rocksteady bass lines. His influences are bass players such as Lloyd Parks, Robbie Shakespeare, Aston Barrett & Leroy Sibbles.

DaPaul born in South London roots hail back to a Caribbean church in London, where he found and nurtured his love for the piano and singing. His formative years in the industry began in the mid 90’s as a session musician/backing vocalist recording and performing with UK/US artists; Eternal, Louise, MN8, Cleopatra, Alexander O'Neal, Jhelisa Anderson, Rhonda Thomas, Kloud 9, Des'ree, and Gabrielle.
